What to Do with Small Data

Abstract

In many settings; and particularly in experimental settings, such as classification and study of fMRI and other systems; it is often impossible to have many data points and certainly few independent subjects. I will discuss this problem in general and, in joint work with my students Haim Shalelashvili and Alex Frid, describe a method of training that can allow classification by best match to artificially produced data points.
