Abstract:

Different cultures compute dates and times differently.
At this auspicious moment, we will explore a sampling of
calendrical and temporal systems and their computation.

 

 

The speaker is coauthor of the well-known book "Calendrical Calculations" published by Cambridge University Press. The lecture will be suitable for both a scientific and non-scientific audience.
